Q: On what floor are the beds located in the home? A: 1st and 2nd floor
Q: Is there a grill? A: Yes, and BBQ utensils and propane are provided.
Q: Do you provide firewood for the fire pit? A: The outdoor fire pit is on propane and there is no need for firewood.
Q: Is the pool heated?: A: The pool is not heated, but it is the perfect place to do a cold plunge after a sauna during the times of the year when the pool temp is still on the colder.
Q: Are pets allowed? Yes, a maximum of 2 dogs only with prior notification and fee required.
Q: Does the home have Air Conditioning (AC) and heat? A: Yes. There 2 separate units. one on each floor.
Q: What is the cancellation policy? A: The cancellation policy is unique to every reservation. Please review the terms on the website.
Q: What is the minimum age to book? A: 25 years of age
Q: Can I host an event or celebration at The Cowboy Surf Lodge? A: Please note that at this time, we do not permit parties or events. While we do receive inquiries about hosting events and are considering allowing them in the future, our home operates on well and septic systems and we do not currently have the logistics to safely and effectively accommodate larger groups.
―THINGS TO KNOW - Please read before you book―
Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am. You will receive a code for keyless check 2 days before your arrival. We are only able to offer an early check in if there is not a booking before yours as it takes time for our cleaners to prepare and restock the home for each stay. For this reason, we are also not able to offer a late check out when we have guests checking in the same day.
GUEST RENTAL AGREEMENT: We kindly ask all guests to sign a separate rental agreement after booking. This helps us protect both you and our property, making sure everything is in order for your stay. We’ve kept the agreement simple and straightforward, and we’re happy to answer any questions you might have about it.
CLEANLINESS: We put our heart and soul into ensuring the space is sparkling clean and ready for your stay! We invite you to make yourself at home and show our space the same love and care you would your own. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to keep it pristine for every guest, and we're excited for you to enjoy it! Just a friendly heads-up, any cleaning beyond the ordinary might incur an extra charge.
MAINTENANCE: To ensure that the pool is always sparkling clean and the yard is beautifully maintained, we have regular pool and yard maintenance scheduled for the property. We’ve noted the usual maintenance days in our guide for your convenience. However, please be aware that the schedule might occasionally change, and maintenance may need to take place during your stay. We do our best to minimize any disruption, so you can continue to enjoy your time here. Thank you for your understanding!
PETS: We do allow 2 pets at a time on the property for an additional fee. Guests must abide by the pet rules which includes cleaning up after your pet and keeping them off the furniture.
CHILDREN: The house is kid friendly, and we often enjoy the home with our own kids and family friends. Please use common sense with children around the pool, hot tub and sauna area and never allow them to be in and around the pool unsupervised.
MINIMUM AGE TO BOOK: You must be at least 25 years of age to book at The Cowboy Surf Lodge. A photo of your government ID is required after booking and we will require you to sign a rental agreement.
WELL & SEPTIC: Our home offers the charm of rural living with the convenience of proximity to local attractions. As we rely on well and septic systems, we gently remind guests to be mindful when using sinks and bathrooms. For those not accustomed to well water, you might occasionally notice a sulfur scent. Rest assured, this is completely harmless, and our installed filters and water softeners are designed to minimize any odors, although a hint of it may still linger at times.
MAX OCCUPANCY: Due to our home's reliance on well and septic systems, we must strictly adhere to a maximum occupancy of 12 guests. At this time, we're unable to host larger groups.
CRITTERS: Our house is in the beautiful Texas countryside, and like many homeowners around here, we have regular pest control to keep critters and bugs at bay. However, every now and then, a few might sneak in. It's pretty rare, but we just wanted to give you a heads-up that it's part of country living!
INSURANCE: Given the unpredictable nature of our world, we strongly suggest considering travel insurance to safeguard against any unexpected events. Our cancellation policy is firmly in place, so insurance can offer you peace of mind and protection. For those exploring travel insurance options, InsureMyTrip and Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection are two providers you might look into. Please note, we don't have any direct ties or endorsements for these companies; we're just pointing out some avenues you might consider.
FINES: We reserve the right to fine $1000 for trash or dog poo, or cigarette butts. Please pick up and avoid fines.
